Jeff Gleason

CEO/ Camp Director

In 1983, Jeff and his brothers were packed up and shipped out to Camp Bristol Hills with their mom, who was scheduled to be the Camp Nurse that summer. Every summer since then, Jeff has been at one camp or another. Growing up in Upstate New York was fun for him, but not far enough north or east. Jeff has lived in Maine with his wife, daughters, dog, cat, and other various pets since 2015. Jeff graduated from Paul Smith's College with degrees in Forest Recreation and Natural Resources Management & Policies, and from Plymouth State University with a degree in Business and a certificate in Organizational Communication. Jeff enjoys playing in the woods, cutting trees, and then in the wood shop, creating useful items.

Kim Gleason

HR Coordinator

Kim joined the YCamp family in 2015, and has worn a number of hats since then. Growing up in Nova Scotia, Canada, Kim developed her love for camp as a camper, CIT and Counselor at a church camp there, and later came to the US as a J-1 Camp Counselor. She gained camp experience working at a variety of camp programs across the U.S., in a variety of roles, before coming to YCamp. Kim's degrees in Elementary Education and Business set her up nicely for her current roles as Human Resources Coordinator and Camp Store Manager. Kim's favorite title at YCamp, however, is her unofficial title: Camp Mom! She loves helping make camp feel home to the campers and counselors!

Morgan Dorsey

Grants Manager

Morgan is a lifelong Mainer who had her first camping and work experiences at the YCamp. As a junior camper, her first letter home to her parents read something like this, "please don't pick me up!" Morgan loved the outdoors and friendships forged at camp. She later studied psychology at Clark University, returned to her Y roots, working as a program director and swim coach at local Y's and area schools before returning to school herself to complete an MSW. In 2014 she completed an MSW at the University of New England and spent several years managing a counseling program serving immigrant and refugee youth. Recently, she's returned to her Y roots, joining the YCamp team once again. She enjoys sharing the outdoors with her growing family and dog, Maggie, in Midcoast Maine. 

Janet Sydnor

Communications & Development Director

Janet and her family moved to Maine in January 2020 and rented the house next door to the YCamp  She walked the grounds nearly every day that year and found comfort and peace amid the beauty. Prior to joining the team, Janet was the development director for the Maine Development Foundation, her alma mater the University of Delaware, and the University of California Santa Cruz. A Delaware native—so flat!—she’s learned to conquer Maine mountains one step at a time. She’s happiest in the sunshine and loves the sounds of kids playing, a good book, a new adventure, dark chocolate with caramel, dogs, cats, and Highland cows, and sharing all these things with family and friends.
