We are seeking caring and enthusiastic role models, who want to work with children ages 7-16, in a beautiful, rustic outdoor setting. Our staff members embody our four core values, (honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring) and build a community upon these.

International Staff

YCamp welcomes many staff members each year from around the world! If you are interested in working at YCamp, but are not a US citizen, please email us.

Returning international staff members should complete the YCamp application before contacting your host organization.

Counselors

Counselors live in cabins with, and care for campers, fostering an environment that is safe for all campers. Counselors model teamwork in their cabins and strong social and communication skills during family-style meals in the Dining Hall.

Counselors also teach classes and lead our activities. They are responsible for the safety of the campers, safety of the equipment, quality of the instruction and interactions among campers. For more information, email us.

Lifeguards

Along with being a Counselor, our Certified Lifeguards spend some of their time on Cobbosseecontee Lake. Our Lifeguards ensure a safe waterfront, while teaching campers how to safely enjoy lake life through swimming, paddling and sailing. Maintaining professionalism and fitness is key to a safe waterfront so our Lifeguards complete in-service training and required swims throughout the summer.

If you are applying to be a Lifeguard, but do not hold a current certification, we strongly encourage you to become certified before arriving at camp. There may also be a course available at YCamp prior to the opening of camp. For more information, email us.

Health Care Provider

Our Health Care Providers work as a team and with all YCamp staff members to maintain the health (physical and mental), safety and well-being of all community members. Ideally, our Health Care Providers live at camp and work for a minimum of a two-week session. We are willing and able to work with our Providers to accommodate schedules. Health Care Providers must hold current licencing in the state of Maine. (RN or MD/DO are preferred). For more information, email us.

Kitchen Staff

Three well balanced meals are prepared daily, and served to up to 300 people. We hire staff to prepare meals, who can be relied upon, who have a desire to work in a team, and who embrace a consistent, positive attitude and ethusiasm. For more information, email us.
