YMCA Camp of Maine will not turn anyone away for an inability to pay. The Tiered Pricing model allows families to choose an amount that is right for them. Wanting to keep YCamp affordable for families, this pricing structure provides options for families to choose an amount they can afford while working to cover the true costs of the Camp Experience.
Through generous donations by individuals, companies, grants, and foundations, different financial aid options are available for campers who need assistance coming to YCamp. The process for applying is easy and confidential.
The Military Scholarship program is funded through donations given by individuals and groups who support our military families. Families are responsible for paying $100 per camper week. This program is available for campers who have a parent/guardian actively serving in the military, or activated with the Maine National Guard. Some documentation is required.
Financial Aid is based on need and does not cover 100% of the tuition. Payment plans can be established to help families manage paying for camp. Occasionally, additional funding is available to help families make the Camp experience possible.
After interested families have completed the online registration form and paid a minim deposit of $50 per week per camper, download the Scholarship Application and return it to the office with the following information: a letter stating the impact camp will have on your family; a copy of your latest tax return; proof of income; proof of federal &/or state assistance; and other supporting documentation you feel will help the Scholarship Committee reach a better decision.
The Financial Aid Committee reviews applications periodically through the end of May. Once a decision has been made, an email will be sent to you with the amount being covered what the family is responsible for.
For more information on receiving Financial Aid, please send an email or call the office (207-395-4200).
