Dear Friends of the YMCA Camp of Maine:
Although it has been twenty-five years since I last attended ’Y’ Camp, I can still remember the scent of the pine trees in the grove while waiting to enter the dining hall and the sound of the bell telling me to move from my 1st period activity on the ball field to 2nd period swim lessons at the waterfront. How time flies!
I currently serve as the Chief Volunteer Officer of the YMCA Camp of Maine Board of Directors. It is a great privilege to be able to give back to an organization that has given me so much. That is especially true now, because this is a very important time in the history of our Camp.
We are embarking upon a much-needed capital campaign, known as The Directors’ Campaign, to ensure the future of the YMCA Camp of Maine.

Time has taken its toll on the Camp’s infrastructure, grounds, and on many of our magnificent buildings. They are no longer serving the needs of our current campers, families and friends. Our challenge is to raise $1 million dollars over the next three years in order to improve and preserve these valuable assets. Together, we can make an investment that will serve the youth of Maine for generations to come.
Please join me and our entire Board in giving what you can to make The Directors’ Campaign a success. In doing so, you will be honoring the Y Camp Motto which still is located prominently on the stone fireplace in the dining hall – God First, The Other Fellow Second, I’m Third.
Thank you,
Julia Munsey
